Zambia's 60th Anniversary

Zambia's 60th Anniversary image

Celebrate 60 years of Zambia's Independence with special rates at some of our favourite lodges!

In October 1964, Zambia became an independent nation, breaking away from British rule and taking its name from the great Zambezi River. This mighty country has much to offer and is a spectacular destination for a safari holiday.

The Victoria Falls, which Zambia shares with its neighbor Zimbabwe, is a bucket list destination. It is spell binding to watch millions of liters of water cascading over the 1.7km wide falls, dropping from a height of 108 meters resulting in the world's largest sheet of falling water.

Game viewing in Zambia is outstanding. With an impressive 20 national parks and 34 game management areas, there is no shortage of places to enjoy incredible sightings of big cats, herds of elephants and buffalo, as well as spectacular birds. The South Luangwa National Park is the home of the walking safari — an unmissable experience when in Zambia. In The Kafue National Park (the third largest national park in Africa!), birdwatchers will find paradise, with over 500 different species recorded here... dont forget your binoculars!

With many luxury lodges and camps to choose from, time can be spent in the wild in the highest levels of comfort.

To commemorate 60 years of Zambian Independence a number of lodges have released special rates.

Here are a few of our favorites:
