Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park image

The Kruger National Park is one of the finest game reserves in Africa. It offers a vast wilderness of prolific game and together with the adjacent private game reserves it forms the Greater Kruger Park.

It stretches some 400km from north to south along the border between South Africa and Mozambique. Thus making it the largest game reserve in South Africa.

With the great variety of animals, birds and plants, Kruger is an excellent game viewing destination. Stay in the park for a self-drive experience, or better still try one of the private game reserves bordering Kruger for a more authentic bush experience where you can enjoy walking and night drives as well as huge numbers of animals and the expert knowledge of the local guides.

Did you know?

  • South Africa set aside an area the size of Wales to protect its wildlife populations and established the Kruger National Park.
  • Kruger spans the Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces.
  • If you play golf at Leopard Creek you may have to avoid animals on the course and certainly don’t try and retrieve your ball from the water features!
  • The big cat sightings are phenomenal in Kruger you are almost guaranteed to see the elusive leopard.
  • From here you can take a road transfer into Mozambique and enjoy the beaches of the Indian Ocean.
  • You can self drive in Kruger but we would recommend staying in one of the private concessions to keep away from the crowds.
  • If you want to get right off the beaten track go to the north of Kruger to Pafuri tented camp and their excellent walking safaris.
  • Visit Gods Window and the Blyde River Canyon for some dramatic views from the Drakensburg escarpment.
  • You can fly from Kruger Mpumulanga Airport direct to Livingstone in Zambia to see the Victoria Falls. You can also fly direct to Vilanculos on the Mozambique coast.
