Zimbabwe : Malilangwe

Bordering the Malilangwe Reserve in the southern corner of Zimbabwe, Malilangwe Game Reserve is a spectacularly diverse and beautiful area with a huge variety of plant and animal species. Home to the highest concentrations of black rhino, a healthy population of white rhino, wild dog, lions, leopards, hyena, cheetah, plains game and over 400 species of bird including 14 species of eagle. With majestic baobab trees, mopane forests and over 100 rock art sites which date back over 2000 years ago. The lodge overlooks the Lake Malilangwe home to many hippos, crocodiles and fish and attracting large herds of elephants and buffalo to drink and bathe. You can enjoy day and night game drives, bush walks, walks to see the Malilangwe sandstone rock art or along the river, boat cruises, mountain biking, birdwatching and fishing trips. There are many hides at the waterholes within the reserve and for those feeling adventurous you can spend the night in a private hide in the bush.

Pamushana Lodge

Pamushana Lodge is a secluded and hidden gem, built under a canopy of trees and surrounded by a leafy garden to give you the feeling of upmost privacy whilst there as well as blending the lodge into the surrounding bush. With just six luxury suites and one private villa, all with views over Lake Malilangwe, with en-suite bathrooms with panoramic views and indoor and outdoor showers. Each luxury room has its own private plunge pool and viewing deck where you can keep an eye out for any animals passing by. In between game activities you can relax in one of the two heated swimming pools, Jacuzzi, spa, yoga room, library, lounge or enjoy wine tasting in the wine cellar. For those who wish there is also a tennis court and golf course with the added bonus of more to avoid than just a sand bunker!
